I have one particular change I would like to make easier, F#-G# on 2 and 7, and I understand I could do this by adding helper springs. No lowers on these two strings so no issue there.
I have a convenient fixed point for one end of the spring, and I was thinking I could use a spare raise hole for the other end, and then I can use a tuning nut to adjust the tension.
Any problems with this? I don't have any pics of how the raise springs would "normally" be attached, and this guitar brand does not have helper springs as standard equipment. _________________ Scott Swartz

SCOTT IF YOU USE A TUNING NUT ON A ROD HOOKED TO A SPRING WHEN YOU TURN THE TUNING NUT THE SPRING WILL ALSO TURN. IVE DONE THIS BY HOOKING A SPRING WITH A LONG END LIKE THEY USE ON A P/P THEN PUT A ROD THRU AN ANGLE BRACKET HELD BY COLLARS FROM A P/P
ADJUST THEM RIGHT AND THEY WORK GREAT |

I see what you are saying, and I was planning on a hex section on the rod that I can hold with a wrench while tightening the tuning nut to tension the spring. _________________ Scott Swartz
