Could this be a Fender pedal steel pick-up?

I've never seen a Fender pickup that looked like that. |

You have a 1959 hand wound Sho-Bud pickup, worth much much more than a Fender pickup. Jr. Brown would kill for that pickup.

Yeah, the seller had TWO and I missed both of them! He parted out a thrashed 1000 - I got the pedal rods and control plate. _________________ No chops, but great tone

Is this a Fender pickup? It fit's the guitar exactly but is taller by 1/16 - 1/32 ". The magnets have slotted heads and the coils are covered with ceramic(?).
It's the one on the right.
Thanks.
Nice score Garry! _________________ Dave Zirbel-

Thank you Bobbe and Dave, you've just made my day I wasn't quite sure why I bid on it ... you don't see many 8-strings pups for sale.
We're going to put this in a test-bed steel and get the most out of it! It may even wind up in a guitar of my own.
If you want to know any specifics I'd be glad to pass them along. |

...Any of them for sale?
Do you have any history on them and why someone would put one in a Fender 400? This is really interesting!
Thanks-garryv |
