As lap steels with their small bodies usually are too narrow for regular guitar stands, here is a nice solution:
I bought one of these electric guitar stands, and asked a friend with tools and a strong pair of hands to bend the parts the the steel rests on a bit. Perfect!
These stands - I have some for my Weissenborns too - are great for bringing to gigs as they are very compact when folded and quite lightweight.
Cheers,

I've been using the same model for a while now. Compact enough to fit in the gig bag accessories pocket with room to spare...and they are very stable...oh, and cheap too!!
...and Fred, by the way. I'll be picking up a copy of the CD real soon...looking forward to it! _________________ www.fontaine-burnett.de

AThere is a violin version of that that works fine with lap steels, you can get it at Sam Ash. Not that I am steering you to Sam Ash, but that's where I was them. |
