The CD is "Live at Gilley's". (clicky clicky)

Released in '99. 20 songs from "Ragged But Right" to "I Never Got Over You".

Who is on steel?

Hi Jon
I suspect it's Big Jim Murphy. One of my heroes. One of the best.
I wonder was the evening filmed at all. I'd love to see it. Paycheck was the best.

Cool. I'm pursuing this info for a friend. The sound clips from this album have super hot picking. Right from the top, Ragged But Right......scorching!

I think it was Big Jim. One of the customer reviews on Amazon says "The steel duties are handled by Jim Murphy on this and he is in fine form."

Only thing is the other customer review complains that the mix is to "way too heavy on pedal steel".

So a soundman is moonlighting as a reviewer??

Does anyone know where I might obtain this release? I tried Amazon, but I do not feel like paying $31 for it.

The review also complains that the bass is too low so let's guess that he is a bass man.

Clearly you haven't done your homework. You can also find it for $135.Shocked That copy must sound awesome!

But no, I haven't been able to find this although I haven't gone far and wide just yet. It's not on iTunes.
