Can anyone direct me to a thread on resetting the neck on a metal body round neck Dobro? Thanks in advance. _________________ Emmons S10, p/p, Nashville 112, Zion 50 tele style guitar, Gibson LP Classic w/Vox AC30, Fender Deluxe De Ville and a Rawdon-Hall classical |

Nothing on this forum, and nothing specific to the round neck metal body Dobro®, but there are a few different articles on Frank Ford's Frets.com (go to Neck Resetting to see the list). _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Went to those links and found nothing I can use. I'm bumping this in hopes of finding someone who may at least have taken a neck off a dobro before to see what's there. _________________ Emmons S10, p/p, Nashville 112, Zion 50 tele style guitar, Gibson LP Classic w/Vox AC30, Fender Deluxe De Ville and a Rawdon-Hall classical |

Hello Howard,
This is a Dobro branded resonator round neck, metal body, solid peghead guitar. S/N appears to be 0279. It has a fan pattern on the cone cover and a one piece cone w/biscuit bridge. I am trying to make it playable w/finger style picking. A previous owner installed a crude tall nut for bar playing and spaced the strings badly on the biscuit bridge. It can be played now with a bar and I have straightened the neck via truss rod, but the action remais much too high for finger picking even with a lower nut I am planning to install. This is why I am interested in neck re-setting. Any help, pointers or warnings would be greatly appreciated. _________________ Emmons S10, p/p, Nashville 112, Zion 50 tele style guitar, Gibson LP Classic w/Vox AC30, Fender Deluxe De Ville and a Rawdon-Hall classical |
