Researching these a bit and talking to Brad, but always forget something...is the Black Box impedance matching function an integral part of the Rev pre? Looks like that to me. Thanks! Other comments? |

HI Bruce
I can help you out on that question.
I play thru Revelation preamps and the first stage of the preamp includes a section that performs the function of the Black Box.
I'm sure that Brad can explain it much better.
I can tell you that the Revelation is a terrific piece of equipment. If you are looking for that nice warm tube tone and sound, buy one and you will be a "happy picker".
My Revelations have been very dependable and Brad backs his products with excellent service and warranty work.
Both of my Rev's are is racks with TC M 300 effect units. These effect units work well with the Rev's effect loop.

Ditto on all that. If you ever see a Rev on sale it's gone quickly. If you use a rack and play steel you'll most likely love the Rev. The sweepable mid or color control and the vari-z allows you to really dial in the sound. I will tell you though it took mine a couple of weeks to burn in and get sweet sounding. If you get one be aware, as at first it sounded a tad hard to me.
Brad is incredible to work with. One of the greatest guys on the planet. Same for TC Furlong. You'll definitely want to hear the Rev through the SPLITS. Amazing sound with every guitar I've heard through them. |
