Hi, guys ...
When I uploaded the 1984 Gary Hogue & Junior Knight videos, I thought they were the oldest that I had … I’d forgotten about an older tape from one of the TSGA Conventions. That old tape consists of some songs from Buddy Emmons' set and some from Gary Hogue & Junior Knight's set. I'm uploading the Emmons videos as I type this post and will probably have the Gary & Junior songs uploaded tomorrow.
I apologize for the video quality, but the cameras of that day were not really great like today’s cameras … however, the music is really good.
I called Junior Knight to compare notes and we both agree that this one was probably the 1981 Texas convention, though it might have been 1982. Buddy was playing a black MCI with the old MCI logo and Gary & Junior were both playing MCI guitars as well (Gary playing a red one and Junior playing a black one).
DeWitt Scott was there and appears to be co-hosting the show with Charlie Norris. One of the video clips is Buddy Emmons singing a little song called "Four or Five Times".
Backing Buddy up, the band is Reggie Brown on bass guitar, Jerry Matheny (seated) on lead guitar, Tommy Nash (standing in black shirt) on lead guitar and I believe the drummer was Bobby Hibbitts (I hope I have the name correct). Please enjoy … _________________ 1986 Mullen D-10 with 8 & 7 (Dual Bill Lawrence 705 pickups each neck)
