I recently acquired 2 old Jbl Monitor speakers that sound Awesome with my guitar amp. I was just wondering how I might go about hooking them to my Peavey Nashville 400 (silver corners). Thanks for all the help!

Edit: After posting I got to thinking. The Ohms would be different as the Nashville 400 is 4 ohms I believe? Still If you know a way I would appreciate it, Even if its just one of the monitors

the important thing is how much impedance do the monitors have?
without that bit of information, there can be no useful answers.

I'd unplug the internal speaker, and plug the two monitors in. If the amp only has one jack, plug one into the amp, and plug the second monitor into the first. Two 8s in parallel is 4 (products divided by sum), so you're good.

The NV400 is not designed to be used with external speakers. It does not have a speaker "jack", just wires that connect to the internal speaker.

Ewwww. I'd forgotten that: most of my acquaintances run other models and I've never owned one.
Wiring extension speakers would be possible, but a pain. I would mention that it'd void the warranty, but that probably expired.
An amp doctor could probably modify the amp easily enough

I (stupidly) had my NV400 set up so the footswitch jack was used as an extension speaker jack so I could run an additional speaker on the other side of the stage (4ohm JBL). I am not sure how the tech wired them, but I ran this setup for years and don't remember any power loss or never damaged the amp. Ken Fox changed it back when he did he mod on my amp. I would never do it now.

If I wanted to run additional speakers off my NV400, I would get a small power amp and use the pre-amp out on the back to power them.

My amp has been modified so that a quarter inch male jack from the speaker connects to a female 1/4 inch on the amp. Im guessing I could run the amp to the monitor and then chain the monitors?

I really feel stupid sometimes when I ask the forum something and then figure it out myself. I Guess I just am so excited to hear others' answers before I really try to fix the problem. To be completely honest I was already on the forum when I said to my self " hmmm What have I been wondering about doing, that Im not completely Sure about? " and thats how my posts usually go. I like backup opinions to make sure I do things right the first time. As much as I can that is.
But back to the point.

Lane......So your saying that when the two 8 ohm Monitors are connected they become a 4 ohm load on my amp. I can't afford to blow my only Nv400.

I have 2 running off my goodrich pedal, that is fed by a Lexicon stereo reverb, and then fed by the guitar.

the problem is, I get a humm when I plug in the second amp to my goodrich.

is it the power supply for my reverb plugged into the same plug as the amp?

dont get the humm untill the second amp is plugged in....

HELP...

Jack... Sounds like "ground loop hum". Buy a HumX ground lifter and plug one amp onto it. Should solve your problem.
