Beginners Notes #78-E9 Pockets-What, Why, Where?
My thoughts on the subject. Other opinions may vary.
What are they? Notes of a scale, two or more, played in any order which sound melodic, when played in their associated key, may make up a "pocket" of notes.(May also include notes before and after scale notes as used in slides or transitions)
Why use them? One way of seeing the connection or connections of scale clusters(a position where most of the notes of a scale are located), on the neck. They allow for transition from cluster to cluster.
Where are they? As defined above, anywhere on the neck, scale notes are located for the appropriate key.
