Hey everybody,
I'm in the process of putting the final touches on some instructional videos for the non-pedal steel guitar. These videos will be geared toward the intermediate to advanced player and will focus on strengthening right hand and bar technique as well as improvisation and harmony using well-known steel guitar favorites as examples. The first video will feature Buddy Emmons' classic "Four Wheel Drive", still one of the hottest steel guitar tunes ever recorded.
The videos will be available as a download only, with tablature/notation and rhythm tracks included. Other videos are in the queue and will feature the styles of Sol Hoopii, Speedy West, Vance Terry, Lloyd Green, Buddy Emmons, Jerry Byrd and others. These transcriptions have been painstakingly done and in some cases I've adapted the pedal steel parts for non-pedal steel. They will be reasonably priced, professional quality, and most importantly, very thorough. Various tunings, 8 and 6 string will be accomodated.
So, non-pedal steel players, be all you can be! If you're interested in an email notification when the videos are available, drop me a line at mike@mikeneer.com, subject Videos.
Thanks and happy picking.

Sounds good, Mike.
The problem I've always had with non pedal is.....tunings!
I had a six string, which I tuned to C6 with E on top, then I bought an 8 string which I tune with G on top.
So, everytime I buy a course, it's geared toward one or the other...there doesn't seem to be any consensus.
