Randy is one of the world's best Slide / Dobro / Resophonic players.

On Saturday his band was playing a benefit for kids with cancer in Columbus Ohio

Many valuable instruments were stolen from a motel parking lot in Obetz, OH.

Please be on the lookout for them.

Here is the current list of missing items:

Scheerhorn L-Body Resonator guitar #547

Amistar Randy Kohrs Model tricone resonator

Meredith all blonde, tongue-oiled maple resonator guitar

Mike Long D-18 style acoustic guitar

*All guitars had fishman pick-ups

Custom Cedar Creek Case for the Meredith – black alligator, inside is purple, has “Custom Built for Randy Kohrs” plate

Two white Calton Cases with Randy’s name on them, both had red interiors

Cedar Creek case for the acoustic Mike Long Guitar

Forrest Craig (Texas-based luthier) Violin with L.R. Baggs pickup

Strad copy violin, roughly 1880’s, the tag inside not exactly accurate. Pictures can be seen on our website/pages.

A double violin case, the attached strap doesn’t match – it’s maroon and gray with gold hardware.

Upright acoustic King Bass, white with black trim, red tailpiece, rare scroll on the peg head and easily identifiable

2 Warwick 2 10” speaker cabinets

Silver waterproof helicopter case with cables and a Shure wireless system

SVT bass amp black with silver face.

3 Stage Ninja brand quarter inch cables

Fishman Dreadnought Aura, Fishman resophonic Aura, Fishman Reverb, Fishman Chorus, Fishman Delay, Boosta Grande Boost pedal, 2 Radial DI’s, Radial Tone Bone Pre-Amp, Hilton Optical volume pedal, 3 Peterson Strobe Stomp Tuners (one had Ashley B. written on the front of it in black marker)

Tool Kit with extra cords and assorted tools.

We don’t want to discourage the thieves from attempting to sell anything as we’d love for them to be caught ASAP – the last thing we want is for the thieves to just throw them in a dumpster or ditch, never to be found. Feel free to pass this along to anyone you see fit. Please contact me if any of this is seen or you have any questions!

Thanks so much!

R

Joey
I've noticed on the local
news in my area that there
is a large drug ring between
Columbus and Detroit MI and
Huntington WV and Charleston WV
and down to Atlanta GA.

There could be a connection
with stolen property.

I sure hope they catch these guys.

Rick

There was a construction trailer at the same motel that was burglarized the same night. I guess they were looking for whatever they could get. Mad

Two of the most important instruments, a Scheerhorn and a Meredith Reso, where recovered from a Columbus pawn shop.

Detectives are hopeful this will lead them to the rest.

Update from Reso-Nation by Randy Kohrs:
They have found 2 of the missing guitars and the detective believes he can recover most of what has been taken. Thanks so much to everyone who helped in locating these instruments. BIG SIGH.......

later on in this thread:

We aren't totally out of the woods yet. A young kid was tricked into pawning these guitars for a guy named Brian Zitsky. He is the culprit and they are trying to find him. Sadly, the police are taking the next two days off of work. This gives this heroine addict time to hide or burn our stuff so there is no possession of stolen property if he catches wind of the boy being caught. I spoke with the young boy myself and put the fear of God into him and to help the police any way he can. His brother is the other culprit and they are both known heroine abusers. JD [Fishook Guitars] is right, his sister inlaw found our stuff. I don't think the Obetz police dept would ever have done anything. They have free Randy Kohrs Band house concerts when they want them and I am still thinking of ways to show our immense gratitude. I will give further updates as they roll in..

Very Happy You know --i could use some target practice with my 45 semi auto handgun ! Evil or Very Mad It really gets my goat when something like this happens . People are just to lazy to get an honest job . But it seems to me that when they catch these crooks the court just slaps their hands or lets them off with public service . Did i say '' Public Service '' ? Evil or Very Mad
