I remember almost falling of my chair when i heard Lloyds steel playing on Joe Ely's :"Because of the wind".
From then on I wanted as much records I could get with Lloyd's playing on it...Joe Ely,Butch Hanckock,The Maines Brothers,Terry Allen..etc....
Anyhow the artists he produces are all good, without listening I bought a cd from The Hot Club of Cowtown, produced by lloyd Maines, and I'm glad I did...

Big fan!! Joe Ely's "Honky Tonk Masqueride" knocks me out every time I listen to it!! He really rocks on "Boxcars" and "Cornbread Moon"!

Here's another youtube clip of Lloyd... this time with Terry Hendrix.

How can you not be a fan after watching that?

Thats a prime example of the steel guitar being used as THE lead instrument in a band.

that is some fabulous playing on the Terri Hendrix tune. I love they way they break it down at the end and then build it back up and rock out. Lloyd did an excellent set at the Texas Steel Guitar soiree in Dallas this year.
