Hi All, I have a Gibson 1954 Les Paul Jr. It's 85% original. W / original case. I may need to sell it, and would like to know how much it is worth, and where is the best place to sell it. My Luthier is putting the original pick-up back in it, and loosing the push-pull tone pot. There are 4 pu cover holes, that won't show when the original goes back in. Aside from that, it is all original. It's the black and gold, single cut-away. I'm not familiar with guitar forums, so perhaps someone can point me to a good one. I suppose there is always flea-bay as well. Any collectors out there ? I will post pics of it soon.

Thanks, J. W. Smile

Here are the pics. The tone pot was replaced with a 1969 Gibson tone pot. Original PU.

To locate the herd of guitar forums available just google guitar forum and you'll find more than you want.

You'll see at www.gruhn.com that various Jr's are going for under 10K. Your '54 may equal that mark.

Thanks Ron, I haven't seen any guitar forums that I was interested in. Not all forums are quite like b0b's SGF. I think I've been spoiled. I haven't wanted to sell any guitars in years. GAS... I have had my share of. As per my '54, the first year the Jr. came out, I haven't seen a one. A few '56s, though. When I get the guitar back, and take pics, I will certainly look into the link you posted.
Thanks, J. W. Smile

You will be lucky to get half of that price. The vintage market has been seriously affected by the economy. Buyers expect to get a steal because of the economy and sellers are having to cut deals to get them to buy. Good luck, nice looking old guitar.
