It'a a pretty stupid name for a rock band, but on the other hand, it allows us to use the slogan: "Support Your Local Pig."
So those of you who live in Southern California, come on out and support us. This is not a country rock band. It's a hard driving blues based Jimi-Hendrix Led Zeppelin style Rock with a capital R band. I play pedal steel frequenrlty with distortion, on about 2/3rds of the tunes.
But beyond the novelty of the use of the steel in this untraditional context, in terms of the level of musicianship, this is the best band I've ever played with. Every member of the band is is an incredibly strong player, and more important, we all play extremely well together.
We will be at Topper's Tavern, 1630 Colorado Blvd. in the Eagle Rock section of Los Angeles, Friday May 3. Admission is free. I hope those of you who are reasonbably close can make it. Please E-mail me if you need directions. |

b0b, we do mostly classic rock. Some reggae, some R&B, Beatles, Stones, Creedence, Lots of blues, some Chuck Berry, etc. No originals Instead we play a verse of a tune and jam on it for 5 or 10 minues.
We even do one country song, but I don't play steel on that one. Instead that's the only tune where I play a B*nj* (sorry about that) (I really suck at b*nj*, but I can get away with it for one tune.)
Lynn, I'm totally stoked that you'll be in town. I sent you several set of directions from different part of the city, and my phone number. It will be great seeing you again. |
