On fathers day my dad told me that Ronnie Miller and the Charlie pride band was going to be in Halifax in a few weeks.
It was a surprise because I didn't expect them this year. After talking to Ronnie on the phone it was confirmed and the show is tonight Whoa!

Ronnie and I are heading out for some of Nova Scotia's finest fish, lunch time and I can't wait for the show tonight. Very Happy

We don't get many live , "real country shows" anymore so it's going to be a great day/evening and it looks like he brought some of that Texas sunshine with him as well. Wink

Glad to hear you're getting together with Ronnie, Bob!

Can't wait to hook up with Ronnie tomorrow night here in St. John's. I will miss the actual show because of road dates on Saturday and Sunday, but hopefully we will be able to get out Friday evening. Great guy and fabulous picker. The boys sat in with my band the last time they were in town, and it was a riot!

Ronnie introduced me to Ralph Mooney in Dallas last March. That was a moment to remember.

I bought my first steel from Ronnie (D-10 ZB) when he had his band in Denver. That was B.C. (Before Charlie).

He is a fabulous steeler! Damn nice guy as well.

Hey Bob,
I enjoyed meeting up with you on Thursday, and getting out of the hotel. The seafood was great, I put the Boondocks on my Halifax/Dartmouth places to visit list.
Hope you enjoyed the show, Pride is still singing great.
Also, thanks for trying to get my midi unit working, I sure missed it on the show thursday night, as did Pride. I only use it on few tunes in the show, and it is very prominent on two of them.
I hope you are succesful getting my IVL's back up and running...soon
Thanks again...cya...Ronnie

Ronnie,

I don't want to get your hopes up because as you know we have already tried to replace the main chips on the troubled main board. The main board may not be re-pairable and there is certainly no new boards to be purcahed with 25 year old equiptment from a company who stoped making those units around 20 years ago. The individual multilayered boards were designed to be replaced and not designed to be repaired outside of the factory. Of course, because we don't have any other choice, we will try a repair.

Although any chance of success is slim, we can at least give it a shot and if it don't work out we at least knowm we gave it our best effort. Also, the good parts can be re-used in another unit for spare parts.

Hopefully, the temporary replacement unit that was arranged for, will work out and keep you going for a while. At least it will take a little pressure from me and provide some quality time to troubleshoot properly. Rushing a repair attempt can cause other problems.

To make it easy for you to track any progress (while your traveling) with your unit, use with this link: (just save it in your favorites/bookmarkes)

Ronnie,

It was great to visit with you again. I always enjoy your company and and all of the Pridesmen band members have always been a delight to hang out with.
It was fun to watch the sound check from back stage .

Just my opinion:
I've seen 3 Pride concerts in the past 2 years and the sound you guys had at this show was the best yet. It was so great to hear the seel guitar levels where they should be.(unfortunaly I complained to your sound guy a few years ago that we could hardly hear the steel) I also enjoyed the reaction of the audience when they heard the steel on some of the slower tunes such as "Fiftheen years ago" They really showed ther apprecation. I was surprised when I heard the matchbro sounds from your Boss EQ unit, I never new you used one. It was as clear as a bell.
After hearing your great licks live I have to dig out some older CD's and borrow some of those.(I won't steel them from you, just borrow) Laughing they really sound pretty mixed in with such a great rhythm section. I also enjoy hearing how you and Billy complement each other and all the great fills and breaks he adds.

Re: Pride is still singing great.

He sure is. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Improvements For the Future:
1. Please come back more often
2. Start the show earlier and let it run longer.
3. Maybe Charlie will let the band stretch out on a few tunes.
Very Happy

The Fans - You doubled your audience show to show:

When you were here two years ago I brough my friend Alex and her dad. They both loved the show. They both came back this time and added Alex's mom and brother(a rocker). They all really enjoyed it.When they werre parting they said:

Alex, Quote: " hey Bob Ronnie was awsome on the steel "Alex Mom Quote: "I really enjoy the guitars that did the slide parts. "Alex said Mom that was the steel guitar" Laughing

Thanks! to all of the band for such a fun day. Enjoy your show tonight in NFLD(where I was born)Have a safe trip back to Dallas and we'll chat soon.

It's easy for you to go to a show in NB. They played ther before they came to Halifax.

Yes, I remember reading about that. It sure sounds like fun. I'll get Ronnie out for a jam sometime when they stay in Halifax for more than a day.

Well I am writing this on Sunday morning 8am here in St John's. Because of fog our plane did not get in last night soooo ???? Since we did not have a 5 am flight we missed our connection in Toronto, and I am not sure when today we will get out. There are only 3 flights a day out of SJs.
I am going to miss the Leon Chambers benefit in Dallas today..Oh well... cya....Ronnie
