Question!

Hey fellas'
Im wondering if anyone has a suggestion
on what might be a good editing software for editing down A DVD to post some clips to youtube.
I have tried Nero. it came with the DVD drive and it totaly infested my computer with Add's and made it so slow i had to take the tower to the shop so Nero Is Out. i just need a user friendly software that isnt to pricey. any idea's?
