Hi Guys,

My brother has a Oahu steel guitar with this info on it:

Oahu Publishing Co.
Cleveland OH
serial number X62674

It is a longer scale instrument. The steel has original case and cloth covered chord with it. The chord sort of screws into the steel. He is playing it now.

Any idea when this was made and what model it is?

Thanks!

If it's a long scale (25") with that serial number, it's probably a Tonemaster or Diana. I don't know of any other Valco (Oahu) lap steels of that vintage with a long scale. They're basically the same. The Diana is more highly adorned.

Thanks Guys!

The steel doesn't look like these posted. It has more of a retangular shape to it, instead of these pictured guitar or fiddle shaped ones.

The steel is longer scale and sounds great!
