OK Steel Techies.......From a frequency side...where's Middle "C"?
Most of us can find it on a piano but the steel now there's the rub. I know some of you out there have the answer. This is more out of....well just say idle curiosity. As most written music starts at a focal point I wonder after all these years if it really matters as far as the steel is concerned. More fodder for the Steel Mill. Very Happy

And thanks Charlie for the alphabet review. Laughing

So I was right.... no one knows or cares where the heck that pesky letter is Exclamation

This is interesting. I believe middle C appears 5 times on a six string guitar, as I recall (making sight-reading harder at least for me). It must be many more on a steel, I would imagine.

String 6 fret 4. (on E9)
" " 7 " " 6
" " 8 " " 8
" " 9 " " 10
" " 10" " 13

String 3 open (On C6)
" " 4 Fret 3
" " 5 " " 5
" " 6 " " 8
" " 7 " " 12

I won't go any further, but you get the idea...This is all without the addition of pedals or levers, which would add even more possibilities. If I've made any mistakes, please excuse me.
