I bought this as a B-stock from Musician's Friend, and put it in a rack with my new Sarno Revelation pre. Occasionally, the unit freezes up and the effected signal disappears. Only after powering it down and back up, sometimes more than once, does it come back up like it's supposed to. Wonder if it could be heat-related, since it recently acted up on a particularly hot stage, and it's right above the tube pre in the rack. I've been using the rack on it's back, facing up at me. I called T.C. Electronics, and was told that it's not under warranty because it was sold as a B-stock, but they would fix it for $130. I would hate to send it to them and have it not freeze up for them. Any thoughts on this appreciated.

I've spent the last 3 months messing with different effects processors because the M-One XL just didn't work with the Revelation Tube Preamp. I tried two different M-One units back to back and neither one of them would give me what I could get out of the M350. I'm happy to sell you mine if you want it..... Lexicon's equivalent MX400 works pretty well. The TC guys are really helpful if you use the online forum to ask questions. You might ask them and see if they think a factory reset would help. That's probably not the answer to the actual problem. Is your M-One and XL?

Your unit may be defective but before you toss it you should definitely get it away from hot vacuum tubes, amp heatsinks, etc. - digital effects processors are essentially high-speed computers that will most certainly go haywire when the temperature gets too high or the voltage drops too low.

From Musiciansfriend website:
Quote:
Factory B-Stock Guarantees
Factory B-Stocks are guaranteed by the manufacturer to function or play perfectly and are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, but in some cases Factory B-Stock warranties are shorter in duration than new products. Factory B-Stocks are eligible for extended warranty Gold Coverage and are also covered by Musician's Friend's 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. Order risk-free and take up to 45 days to check out the gear before deciding to keep it.

If you've only had it a month or so it should be in warranty.
Good luck!
Cheers!

It is the M-One XL. Brad Sarno recommend the M-One, and after I bought the XL model, he made me a set of cables for it. When it's working, it sounds fantastic to me. Thanks for the tips.

I have never had a problem that I THOUGHT was heat related, I sure couldn't rule it out though. If I was pleased with the unit otherwise, I'd let them fix it.. I have a vent space in my rack that may help a little.
