Just a litle Musical History from the fourties.
Jenks(Tex) Carmen used to incorporate the Service Songs in to his repetoir. Tex played an old six string accoustical non Dobro guitar snd he really bore down on it. He would imitate drums by laying his steel bar barely on the strings and strumming them with a drum beat. The strings would rattle like a snare drum. He would also do gunshot ricochets with his bar high up on the little strings. Tex was a real character and a swell person. |
