OK, time to move beyond the basic grips (strings 3,4,5,6,8,10....)
I've been getting an F# with my 6th String G#->F# lever, but mostly only using it for V chord, with E->D# lever (B D# F#)
What chords can I find if I really use the 7th string? With compensators on that string (and string 1), if that helps...
I also haven't used the 9th string, except for an open grip 7th chord....need to know what chords use 9th string as a root?
Thanks in advance for helping me get to the next level.... _________________ https://www.lostsailorspdx.com

OK, looking at it, so far I've found:
Bmaj 10/5, 8 w/E->D#, 7 (B D# F#)
F#min 7, 6B, 5A (F# A C#)
Dmaj 9, 7, 6B (D F# A) _________________ https://www.lostsailorspdx.com

Hey Steve,
Here's some I like
A+B pedals down position
Strings 7 5 4, gives you a nice 6th chord sound.
Pluck all three strings at once and slide into it. Start two frets back and walk up.
B pedal. Two frets above the open position:
Strings 9, 7, 6, 5
Inversion: 1 3 5 6
Nice 6th chord. Press the A pedal, you just moved your 6th tone to a major 7 tone, nice Maj7 inversion. Add string 8 you have a nice Sus2 / 9th sound.
Use your bar to play one fret above on string 5 you can get nice Dom7 runs in that pocket.
B pedal is key because it makes your 3rd tone a 5th tone two above.
From open position works like this:
String 9: b7 - 1
String 8: 1 - 2
String 7: 2 - 3
string 6: 3, 4with b pedal - 5 with b pedal
String 5: 5 - 6, +A makes 7
String 4: root - 9
See it?
Last one for now....
Strings 9, 6, 5 + A pedal gets a nice 13 chord. Go big and rake 9 and 8 with your thumb and it sounds great.
Same grip without string 8 is a nice sharp 9 chord 1 fret below pedals down position. Call me and I can elaborate, give you some use case scenarios. |

Strings 9,8,6 give a dom7 - resolve it with B pedal, and D lever lowering 9 a half tone.
Add a plain dominant before those 3 frets up with D and F. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

9, 6 & 5 with A & B pedals gives a nice maj7 - look for the tonic 2 frets down on string 8. E.g. A is at fret 5, 8/6/5 no pedals. Amaj7 is at 7, 9/6/5 with A & B. _________________ Williams 700 series keyless U12,

You need to bring your guitar over here, Steve, it's way easier to show you that stuff than to try to tell you... |

Right on Steve. What we really need is you me and Dave at Muller's for a proper idea jam.
I have a much needed break from gigging the next toe weeks and an Emmons D10 about to be ready for shredding.
Speaker phone / Skype works too
If only I could get this kind or response to my C6 thread |
