I just purchased the Peavey NV112 and wanted to know favorite amp settings from those using this amp. I'm a true fan of my Fender Steel King, but just wanted to try the NV112, since so many have good things to say about this amp, not to mention the lightened load. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Dennis,I got my 112 maybe four years ago,I love it,Never found a club that it did'nt do the job,once in awhile if playing a BIG outdoor event,99 percent of the time everything will be miked or line out,so it's ok for that,At one time I used the Peavey 500,400's and a Fender Twin with JBL'S,I'm not going to say the 112 is the same as those big boys,BUT the difference in the weight It's great,DOES THE JOB.Some of the guys here may give you some settings,I'm not,My advise [for what its worth]As the old guys say [fiddle] with it till you get the tone YOU LIKE,THAT'S NOT HARD TO DO. It's a GREAT little amp that does'nt require a forklift to get it on a stage. Good luck with it. DYK?BC.

I use settings similar to most you'll find on here. This amp has plenty of inherent bottom. In some rooms the bass on "0"(flat) is sufficient, anwhere from there to +3. The most effective is to set the shift at 800 and play around with the mid (anywhere from off to about 3. (This gives the tube-like bloom) Then the high and presence anywhere from 0 to plus 2 or 3 will give you the sparkle.

All this is subjective to what you like and what guitar you play. I play a couple of Emmons LeGrandes. I am producing a CD for a steeler who uses settings completely foreign to most and he is getting a great sound, so there just are no hard and fast rules. Happy hunting!

Thank you, Clyde, for your great advice! I appreciate how you explain what the settings will do for the sound of the amp. You guys are the best!

Well, I said something that may have been confusing. When I got to the gig tonight, I noticed that "off" on the mid knob is not "0", but -12, so I meant the place to start setting the mid was -12 to about -9. That is what I intended when I said set the shift at 800 and use the mid to find the place you like to hear the pseudo "tube bloom".

Actually "off" (no affect on signal) on the MID is Zero. If you set the Mid at Zero then it doesn't matter what frequency you select it won't boost or cut that frequency. If you set the control on -12 then you are at maximum "cut" (attenuation) of whatever frequency you select.

The Peavey "Paramid" is the most often confused setting on amps that have that.

Right Jack, I just have trouble saying what I mean, dogggone it. Turn it all the way to the left and bring it up slowly till it suits you. Most of the
time I like it cut completely, but in some rooms,
slightly off the stop is better.

My belief is that the Natural/Flat Sound of the Amp. is ±0 on all EQ-Frequencies!
Pre-Gain =======
Low ±0dB
Mid ±0dB
Shift ==550Hz^==
High ±0dB
Pres. ±0dB
Rev. ===========
Master =========
This should be my real starting~point!
