Hi everyone....Yesterday, I enjoyed the 6th Annual Canadian Steel Guitar Show in Caroline, AB. Featured artist was the great and wonderful guy, KAYTON ROBERTS of Hank Snow fame! At 76, he still plays his fabulous Fender (red) Custom D-8 which is almost as old as he claims to be...and he sure hasn`t lost his touch ! It was a great show which featured many well known steel guitarists including Doug Jernigan, Roger Carroll, Hank Rodgers and a host of others. Jeff Bradshaw organized everything and started off the show. Oh yah, I played a few tunes on my Canopus D-8 also my National Tri-cone.  |

Hey George, glad to hear that the 6th annual steel guitar show was a success, I'm hoping that you'll be able to post some pics or maybe you'll upload some video to Youtube?

George, you are so right!
And not only is Kayton a great player,
but he is a total howl as an entertainer.
He kept me in stitches.
I also have to say I thoroughly enjoyed your playing as well, George.
Your band brought a lot of smiles to the faces of the audience. |

Thanx Laurent and Andy. As for pics, my wife and I took many on "Kodachrome" as we still have lots of film to use up.  Perhaps Jeff and his crew took some nice digitals or videos which could be posted ? Nice meeting you again Andy, also seeing my old friend Hank Rodgers after some 20 + years. Hank played some mighty nice steel on his SIERRA at the bash.
BTW, Joe Kozak did a superb job of country singing. I've known Joe for about 100 years and was amazed he has'nt aged a day !  |
