I have been using a Special 112 recently and very impressed with it. For the $ 100 I paid it's got plenty of power for unmiked medium rooms and it's about $ 300 less than a NV112. I like the sound as much or better than my NV112. It's heavier( weighs 56 #) but thats still lighter then my D-10 Emmons. If you want to spend less on an amp you might give one a try.
