Gregg makes a great instrument, and for $1000 someone will be very happy . For $2000 someone would be very happy.
I have played a few of Greggs guitars and they are an incredible instrument at a very, very good price... Hand made in USA all the way.

I just have to add, for the benefit of the many who are not familiar with Gregg's guitars, that they are solid workhorses, look good and sound really sweet! I have one of his 8-stringers that I bought from a FoBro, tuned to G6th, and while it has that classic d*bro sound down low, it sounds like a lap steel in the middle and higher registers. A very versatile gigging axe!
