Just got a MB Studio Preamp together with a Mosvale amp and 2 12" BWs. I found the owner´s manual on Internet, but has anyone any good tips on how to make it sound good for steel (both with amp/speakers and directly to sound card for recording).

Thank's.
The preamp sounds real warm and nice, but easily distorts especially when going directly to the mixer. The Hilton vol.ped. is quite hot, but not that hot. Even with Master on 10 it distorts way to much. Any ide what could help? _________________ Emmons D-10 P/P 78", Franklin D-10, Zum Encore. Sho-Bud LDG |

Well... there's a rhythm/lead switch. I leave mine on rhythm to maintain a clean path.
I would also suggest plugging the guitar straight into the preamp, bypassing the v.p., to check and see if the v.p. is too hot.
I hope this helps. |

Using the rhythm channel
As this is a problem mostly going direct it must be that the signal from the preamp is to hot for the mixer.... _________________ Emmons D-10 P/P 78", Franklin D-10, Zum Encore. Sho-Bud LDG |

STRAIGHT INTO THE MIXER ,, SOMETIMES RUNNING ONE PRE AMP INTO ANOTHER WILL CRASH ,, TRY RUNNING THE
M B PREAMP IN THE CHANNEL "LOOP" ,, TIP RING SLEEVE JACK .. .. SOME PRE AMPS WORK BETTER IN THIS CHAIN |
