My dad purchased this guitar and an old Rickenbacher tube amp for me in the early 60's.

Please share if you have any available information regarding this model. i've had a hard time finding much about them, especially the old amp.

I've only been able to find one picture of a guitar similar to this in a 1950's rickenbacker catalogue, only it only had one control knob. Not looking to sell it as there's too much sentimental value plus I really enjoy playing it.

Steven, a similar photo, but not exactly like yours, is in The History of Rickenbacker Guitars,
by Richard R. Smith, Copyright 1987
, and published by CENTERSTREAM publishing.

Hi Steve,

on my last Hawaii visit Paul Kim showed
me a very similar guitar, a Frypan with a wooden fretboard.
Quite unusual, I thought that was custom made.
The guitar sounded fantastic.
