Just a little self promotion....I'll be playing with a cool classic country band the "Chapped Cheeks" this Friday night at the Swallows Inn in San Juan Capistrano. I'll be filling in for their usual player, Forumite Memphis Slim....thanks Slim! The Swallows is a well known historic honky tonk a block away from the famous San Juan Mission. I'll try to focus on that aspect instead of the ton of pretty girls that frequent that place. Wink

Rick, I know of what you speak bro! I hit enough clams to make chowder last month when we played there due to the "eye candy" on the dance floor! LOL

Oh boy, this should be fun. I played there a few weeks ago. What a blast of a place. A good-vibe place for sure. Plus, you've got Pedro's Taco shop just across the street. Have fun. I know you'll kill 'em with your steel playin'.

Wish I would have known about this place 3 weeks ago. We were in San Juan at the Villa for a wedding. Toured the Mission and a huge antique shop on the main street. I must have walked right past this place your talking about. I wounder if anyone was "Steelin" on Fri. the 9th there? Day late & a dollar short again! Oh Well

Neil...you might've walked right by it. Oh well, maybe next time. In the day time there's not alot going on, but at night it comes to life. It is one place in So Cal were steel players are still welcome...if they can find a place to set up on the postage stamp size stage. They do have their fair share of rock and alt country bands, but the locals are definitely a 2 step crowd.
