It still has the original 3 year parts and labor warranty offered by MSA and is in 99.9% mint condition. Serial # SPO 11001. Email or call 818-893-5870.
$5,000. firm plus shipping.

If I could spring for it, I'd get it just to have a steel owned by our West Coast master, Jay Dee!

Like Palenscar says, this is a great axe, and in Jay Dee's hands it sounded amazingly close to his beloved Emmons p/p's.

Tis one of the most beautiful steels I've seen depicted here. My jaw dropped.

That MSA is a real nice guitar but I new Jay Dee would go back to his Push Pull.
Just Like me I can't seem to walk away I always go back.

Absolutely incredible sounding guitar. I watched Johnny Cox work and work on it until it was as close to JD's expectations as humanly possable. He's picky you know. If JD says it is 99.9 % perfect all you would have to do to make it 100% is wipe of the finger print on it !

All the best to someone getting a fantastic guitar.

I'm surprised some MSA fan hasn't jumped on this! You could hardly find a more beautiful, better sounding or better set up MSA. And it probably will have some collectable value as the first Studio Pro and having been Jay Dee's. Most mere mortals have a hard time telling it from a P/P when he plays it.

I believe That the 5,000 dollar price tag is slowing up the sale of this guitar. How many people have that kind of money for a used guitar.
with the way the economy is today. but it's sure is pretty wish I could play it.

The Studio Pro sells for $4995 new with a standard configuration of 8/5. This guitar has 9/8. Each additional lever and pedal costs $200 adding an additional cost of $800 to this guitar. While the MSA crew is terrific about the setups and maximizing the playablilty of each guitar, this guitar has seen hours and hours of additional setup tweaking by Frank Carter and JayDee Maness and is a true racehorse and one heck of a deal.

I don't think it's a money issue Chris- it's just that this guitar really deserves to be played and I doubt JayDee will ever be truly satisfied with anything other than a pushpull.

If I was in the market for a MSA, I would have already bought this guitar. I remember talking with Jay Dee right after he got it. I have the highest respect for the way Jay Dee takes care of his equipment; and especially his ear for tone.

I was at the Dallas show when JD played this guitar in public for the very first time at a show. I remember he created quite a buzz with the visitors in the MSA room and I was so impressed that I ordered one for myself at the end of that show. This guitar is very special.

Here are a couple YouTubes with this guitar. You can find others of Jay Dee on a P/P or his Frank Carter built EMCI. The MSA is really very close with all the advantages of a modern all-pull mechanism.

Maybe with hints of an improving economy and tax season behind us folks will want to have another look at this fine axe.
