What is the ballpark price for these rigs? It's a later model I believe that has the P-90 style pickups. Do they sound good?

Its hard to know which Gibson you are referring to. I have a 1950 Grande Console with the oval PUs. (Don Helms had one) So it sounds like some of those Hank Williams recordings. I saw a D-7/8 go for 999.00 on ebay a few weeks ago. It looked in very good shape. Gibson made other consoles as well. |

I never cared much for the later model "Consolette".
It looked rather cheaply built.
I much prefer the early 3 legged model. |

The Consolette has some good points ..it's lighter
and will produce a nice sound. The pickups are
weak on the bass end but I never played a Grande
Console since the 50's so I cannot draw a comparison.
Naturally, if I had my choice like Erv I would go for
the Grande.
Link to Consolette sound. The Grand should be better?
