I was wondering if anyone has ever tried this. I know that people have put bisuit resonators on banjos from time to time. Whoa!

Alan, I guy I know made 5 or 6 resos from scratch, and did a very good job IMHO. The last one he made had a 3/4" thick banjo tone ring in it that stopped about half an inch off the bottom. He had a regular cone and spider bridge sitting on top of the tone ring. It sounded as good as most OMI's. This doesn't really answer your question, but is the nearest I could come.
