KLH CDR-1000 problem

When I try to make a CD from an analog source, all I get is a message saying "Waiting for Input" This problem arose after I came out of the tape outs on my stereo amp receiver to the KLH. Up to this point, it worked fine. Could I have messed up something in it when I came out of the amp outs instead of directly from an analog deck?
