just picked up a 71' vibrosonic, took it to my local repair man which replaced power tubes, set the bias, tightened sockets, but it still has a really loud buzz until you turn the volume to ten, then it goes away. is it the volume pot or is this normal?

Definately not normal. You might want to get it into a shop that can fix it, so further damage does not occur.

By the way, does yours have a mastervolume, or is it a non master? Just curious.

Well, when you get your Vibro dialed in, you will have a killer amp.

If I might make a suggestion, take your chassis out of the cabinet and box it up and send it to forumite brother Ken Fox.( he's as close as your nearest Fedex store) He just went through my Vibro and it's the finest sounding tube amp I have ever played a shobud through. Ken is a steel player himself, and with 35 years experience, he KNOWS how to squeeze "THE" tone out of a fender tube amp.
