Hi--
I hope it's okay to post this.
For those in eastern PA, NJ & DE, there's a dealer with a nice selection of vintage lap steels and amps: the Tinicum Guitar Barn in rural eastern Bucks County.
I was there for the first time yesterday. The owner, Karl, was very friendly and helpful. We worked out a good deal for both of us.
The website is

I have no interest in this business. Just had a nice time there.

The Mason with the "Gumby" headstock is kind of cool. Never heard of that brand. |

Yeah, I corresponded with him, but I avoided trekking out there because I was afraid that it would cost more than gas money. Does he still have an MSA PSG as well as all those lap steels? |

I didn't see in any pedal steels yesterday.
But it sure was fun to play all those different lap steels: a couple of Gibsons, a Rick 59, a Bronson B6, a couple of Magnatones, Electromuse, Mason, Nationals....
But the one I liked best was a recent Chandler RH-2, which I traded for. To my ears, it had the best sustain and a wide range of tones. |

Tinicum has been one of the best kept steel secrets with a nod towards the cheap and odd, but good, for decades. |
