I have an old dd3 that works fine with a 9 volt battery, but when plugged in to a 9 volt wall wart,It then developes a loud hum that varies in tone when the delay time knob is rotated. I am not using the adapter that DOD recomends, but this adapter works fine on any other effects box, and the polarity is correct. Any ideas guys?? |

The DD-3 requires a regulated adapter (like the Boss PSA-120) or other similar ones.
If the adapter you are using is not regulated that could be the problem.
A non regulated adapter will measure much higher than 9 volts when not hooked to a pedal, maybe 13-14 volts, whereas a regulated adapter will still measure 9 volts even when not connected to a pedal. _________________ Scott Swartz
