I was enjoying this classic Bola Sete performance: http://tinyurl.com/pb483d
and thought I'd try it out on steel. Rather than figure out the bridge I just improvised a new one. I tried to add some shaker and other percussion in Garage Band but that only made clear my own obvious rhythmic deficiencies. Gotta work on better imitating Bola's happy-go-lucky groove. It lays out pretty well in D9th tuning. |

Nice playing. Challenging, because you can't use open bass strings like on that other type of guitar Bola Sete played.
But why do you call this a 9th tuning? I don't see it that way, rather as a D6 with a 7th in the bass.
How can it be a 9th without an E? |

| You're right, Matt, I miss-wrote! You could name as you suggest. John Ely called it D13th - probably because the 6th & the b7th are both present in the tuning. |
