Topic: How do you remove the fret board on Marlen D10 |

| My Marlen C6 neck board is raised up at Tuning end. How can I repair safely. It's more of a cosmetic issue at this time. I just noticed it. Thanks Bob |

Hi Bob,
I'm not sure about Marlin steel but for those steel that has the fretboard glued to the neck...you can use hair dryer to heat up the fretboard to melt the glue underneath and then use a plain guitar string and run it under the fretboard to get it off.
you can go on the Carter website they have a video showing how to do it.

Are you talking about the Plexiglas neck board or the neck itself?
If you are talking about the neck then you might have to take of the Plexiglas by unscrewing them tiny screws and see if the screws under neath are loose.
Some times a home made dowel might do the trick when the screws are loose or tightening the screws.
If you are talking about the fretboard then you might have to go to a slightly bigger screw to re-attache those.

I believe Ron is right. On the older Marlens, the plexiglass fretboard was held on with screws. Remove
them and you will see probably three large screws holding the neck on. If the neck is warping and
lifting, you may have to add a screw to the neck to pull it down. CAUTION, when putting the fretboard back on, be careful to only lightly snug the small screws, it is very easy to crack the plexiglass.

| Thanks guys. I think I said it wrong. the fret board is a strip of aluminum that raised up on tuning end. I can't push it down and it acts like it might have turned slightly. Bob |

Then all you have to do is apply some heat and get a string under it as described above and get it up enoungh to appy some new contact cement. Let the
cement dry for a minute or two before pushing the fretboard back down and put some weight on it over night and you should be good to go. Remove any overspill by letting it set a few minutes and lift it right off with duct tape.

i just reread the post and he was talking about the neck and not the fretboard
