My sentiments also,
It was a great show, and I want to thank everyone for their support, and the hard work done to produce this show. And all these fantastic artists who presented their instrument so well..
Mr Jeff Newman asked me several years ago." Rob,why do you go to all these shows ...you don't play steel.???? I said ,Mr Jeff, I guess it's the food."( At that time he didn't know I played steel.)
Well it really is the 'food'.. The food of top of the line musicians, letting this 'food',leave their hearts and minds, travel down to their hands, and launch the notes thru their strings, and out the amps for all to hear and enjoy...
My hat is off to them, and all the many others who lend support to these endeavors..And especially to the many fans who come out and give their support..without them, we would be just " playing for the band'.
Thank you again Mr Bobby Reed, and your staff and volunteers, for letting me be a part of this production...
RP...'come on in'...

What a WONDERFUL event. Thanks to Bobby, Don and all the other
great folks that worked so long and hard, to make this possible.
3 full days with some of the best Steel players and other musicians,
in the country, along with the best singers you will ever hear.
Thanks to Bobby and Bill for inviting me to play with them,
and as bad as I still play, they told me I played pretty good.
Thanks guys, that made me feel very good.
Bill, your pictures look very good. Thanks for posting them.

Wanted to put my two cents in. Teresa and I had a great time with you folks! The staff put on another excellent show. I am always amazed by one of my heros Mr Jernigan and everyone else played great as always. Ron Elliot you are one in a million and I love hanging out with you. To many to mention all but know that we appreciate everyone for keeping our music alive and well in Illinois. Lord willing and if you'll have us will be there next year. Thanks to all that played for me and also who stopped by our booth(small as it was in product. We'll have more soon)
Thanks again

I just wanted to say, what a show! I really enjoyed making a lot of new friends and picking with a lot of excellent musicians. I was really glad also to see one of my former band members, Terry Smith, and have him play on my set. The last time we played together was probably the mid 80's, what a super guitar player. Don Lampley, thanks for the fine singing and bass playing on my sets. Larry Overturf, Thanks for the fine job singing. Thanks to Bobby Reed, Nick Reed, Joe Arview, Tommy Miller, and Myrna Beasley. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth. See you all next year if the Lord's willing.

I have not been on line for a few days and BOY have I missed some great pictures and post replies!
Thanks alot for the pic's Bill and to all for the wonderful comments about the Mt Vernon show. And I agree it was GREAT.
We are already making plans for next year. I have been contacted by several players who want to play next year but I won't be putting together a final schedule until about November.
I want to mention some others who worked so hard to make this show a success. Joe and Ruby Arview, Vernon Mandrell, Joe Arview JR, Tim Arview, Lindell Johnson and Tommy Miller. Also our greatest thanks goes to the tourism people, the sponsors and radio 106 FM. Thanks also to the Holiday Inn for the use of their beautiful ballroom and services.
STEEL GUITAR IS STILL ALIVE AND WELL!
Bobby.
