I had never heard of him till last night. I saw a You-Tube of him playing a Emmons on the Penny Gilley Show. He really plays smooth, and he can sing while he plays. I have it posted in the other forum section.

Nick,
I believe he is from Canada, he is well known there.
I hope this is correct, he was on the Penny Gilley Show for a few months. Visa probably expired.

It's JD Beckman, originally from the Fergus Falls, MN area. I played with him in Red Sterling's Sterling Strings back in 1978. JD really wasn't old enough to be in the bars yet, and was just getting started on the steel. He quickly became a fine player and singer, and pops a Telecaster pretty good, too.

He's worked a lot with Dave Dudley, over the years.
