Look for a new half hour comedy/music show appearing on Canadian CMT starting Monday, November 19. It will be on twice a day but the times may vary accross the country. Here in Mountain Time it will be shown at 6:00 and 9:00. The listing in the TV Guide here just says the artist name for the show with no other information so look for these names in your local listings. A different show will be on each day for the entire week.
Monday - Patricia Conroy and then Gil Grand ( a double header to start)
Tuesday - Adam Gregory
Wednesday - Lisa Brokop
Thursday - Steve Fox
Friday - Amanda Stott
We did six shows altogether. Each guest artist is featured doing a classic country song.
You can find out more about the show and the band by visiting http://www.dannyhooper.com
Here is an brief description of the show.
The Barn Satellite Network stars Danny Hooper who is a famous Country Music Star (but only within a 50 mile radius of his ranch). He accidently finds himself with thousands of dollars in satellite equipment and decides to start his own Country Music Television Network, The Barn Satellite Network (the BS Network for short) from his barn somewhere in Alberta, Canada. It has the flavour of classic television favorites like Hee-Haw and SCTV.
The cast of regulars includes Danny's manager Hank Pompadour played by Red Volkaert, and Danny's cousin Deandra played by Zandra Bell. Other cast members include ventriloquist Don Bryan with Dr. Noseworthy and the BSN Orchestra (featuring Kelly LaRocque on guitar, Bruce Rohn on fiddle and guitar, Gary Lefebvre on drums, Mark Winkelman on Bass, Smokey Fennell on steel guitar, and the vocal talents of Melanie Switzer).
If you watch and like the show, please e-mail or phone CMT and tell them. We want to do more shows. Tell everyone that you know that gets Canadian CMT on cable or satellite to watch this week. If things go well we may be on American CMT in the new year. |
