I am looking to buy and learn how to play the PSG and would like to know what is a good guitar to learn on. I am curious as to the quality, playability and resale value of a Wilcox S10 with pad or would I be better off with something like a Carter Starter. Any info would be appreciated..........Curt Steele |

Curtis,I'm not an expert by any means, but I can tell you to be patient and don't jump at the first guitar that you come across. There are many pro quality guitars out there for sale for reasonable prices. There are many brands that are excellent, unless they have been butchered up.If you know someone who plays, get them to look at the guitar for an assessment. If there are any steelers in your area, they will probably be glad to help you find a guitar suitable for your needs.I can tell you from experience an inferior guitar that has problems will discourage you and will be a hindrance to your progress.Keep your eyes on the "Instruments for Sale"section of the forum regularly, for there are often good buys for quality guitars listed there.Go to some steel shows and put the word out that you're looking to buy. Most forum members are usually accomodating and wil be glad to help.

Curtis,
why don't you shoot Chet Wilcox a mail or a phone call.He came a long way and his guitars look wonderful and play very good.
IMO he handles a great price on them as well.
