Any suggestions on where I might start looking for a"tooled" black arm pad for my Derby? I want he same kind of design that is on the case. Probably the same design that is on the Carter. Thanks, Greg

You mean like this? I do some freelance work for Mesa Boogie and saw them wrapping some of their custom cabs with tooled leather, so I got a scrap from them and my wife (an upholstery hobbyist)whipped this one out for me (she's awesome!!!). She'd never worked with leather before so the corners were difficult to do without big lumps on the underside that kept the pad from sitting flat. We finally cried uncle and I took it to a professional down the street to do the corners for us. The secret was to heat the leather so it'd stretch easier.

Contact whoever made your case (or Carter) to get some leather with the same pattern, cut yourself a piece of plywood, get some foam and take it to your local upholstery shop and voila you too can have custom imprints on the under side of your forearms after those long steel sessions! Good Luck!

Yes Ross; pretty much. I am not sure who made the cases for Mr. Stepp. That person would have the material and could probably build the arm rest.

Greg, you can go to Ebay and look for seller jam4Jaudio, he has the tolex, you are looking for. I got the same tolex and covered some speaker cabs and this tolex is really nice. And it's really reasonable too.

Hobby Lobby has both black and brown "tooled" vinyl. $16.99 a yard, would take about 1/3 of a yard to do an arm rest.
