Hi I have this 54' Fender Steel guitar with original case SN # 2122, does anyone have any information about this guitar or where I might find some ok thanx peace vincent

Fender serial numbers are quite a bit worse than useless. A picture or description will get you much more mileage.

Fender Dual Eight with trapezoidal pickups. Pretty cool guitar, the forerunner to the Stringmaster. Your guess on date looks about right to me, but it's usually written in the body cavity under the pickups, either in pencil or with a stamp. One idiot's assessment, the Fender gurus should be on shortly. Kind of like this one:

I thought the mfg. dates were always under one of the tuning-wells!
