Oh Lordy, but they forgot to mic the steel on tonight's show. I gotta say it: The Mary Stuart Show is the best thing on the teevee and the best thing for pedal steel on the tube.

But the show needs to be an hour and they need more pedal steel guitar.

I know there are some Nashville cats here. Can you please tell Marty to get more of Mr. Carter on the show?

And after the Gospel song they always cut to that picture on the wall. Way to go Marty. God Bless!

It's amazing to me that after this many shows, they could make such a major blunder like this. Still the best show going, however.

I was there for that taping and the seel was loud in the studio, so they must not have had it turned up in the control room. I didn't get to see the show, I had a gig Very Happy , but did see the promo as to what was to be shown. It was taped about 6 weeks ago. And yes Gary is a super picker.

I never miss the Marty show and like the format. Yes more steel would be nice but I think there is a good mix of the music. I hope they have many years of success

It was kinda strange, in my view a major goof that was not corrected. I was thinking that by the time the 2nd tune came along this would have been "fixed", but it wasn't fixed ever over the course of the show. That's pretty rare .

Regardless, this is a great show and one technical issue doesn't take anything away from the show.

To borrow a phrase from SNL, "I've got a fever, and the only prescription... is more pedal steel!"

I'm thinkin' that this past weekend was a broadcast problem. I recorded Marty's show (as always) and noticed that half the audio was missing, including the steel, and I recorded another show on RFD that was missing half the audio also.
I would say that their stereo broadcast was only sending one channel out over the satellite.

I remember one time when Jerry Douglas was out here he was telling a few of us that regarding these TV shows, the quality of the sound, the balance, the volume of certain instruments and the like can depend on the "feed" and it can differ regionally.

So if there is truth to that, then the soundman in the studio isn't to blame.

I have DVR'd the last 12 shows, and every one except this past weekend, had the steel in the mix pretty well. Also, Marty, Eddie, etc call out Gary's name often. He's also done a few instrumentals. I'm really thankful for RFD to put a show like this on the air, and I pray it continues. I think I saw where the upcoming show this week is featuring Wanda Jackson.
