Some folks on here have stated the picture gets resized during the load. Unfortunately, that has never worked for me, I have ony had success by resizing the picture to approximately 800x600 pixels, BEFORE trying to load it. Other sizes might work, but I can say for sure every picture of mine that you've seen on here is at that size.
That link from Brad has correct info in it, but the real key seems to be to get the size down to around 800x600.
