Well, I have never played a Fulawka, but that Williams is a sweet guitar! I wouldn't be in too big a hurry to part with that...

Ryan,
The Fulawka is made in Ontario, Canada, by Ed Fulawka. He makes them by hand from the bottom up, so the wait time is usually (and understandably) long - 18 months or more, I've been told, They are cherished by their owners, and very seldom come up for trade or sale. The Fulawkas I've heard have a pronounced mid-range growl and a lot of sustain. I played one of Bob Lucier's SD10s, and it was really sweet. Some people compare them to Sho~Buds; I think they have their own unique tone. Either way, owners are unanimous in their adoration for these guitars. I know one owner that proclaims all other steels to be "toys" in comparison to his Fulawka. You may want to call Ed and check on wait times. His number is posted on Gary Arnold's recent thread featuring his new black SD10 beauty.

Fulawka's are a precision made guitar of very high quality. They sound great also. You will be hard pressed to find a used one. |

I was lucky enough to buy this one used from Al Brisco a few years ago. I didn't feel like waiting for a new one.
