Hi all.
I will be visiting Austin 7-18 may and just got notified that i have a booked gig on friday, may 8, and at least one more during the next few days.
Since this was originally planned as a holliday trip i will not be traveling with any equipment.
So... i'm looking for a pedal steel available for rent, borrow or purchase. I'm also looking for a decent steel amp available for rent.
I play Emmons pedal- and knee setup, but any guitar that stays in tune for more than three minutes will do.

Friday May 8 gig at Lorraine's out in Marble Falls. The show is from 9pm-12.
the Saxon Pub gig on Tuesday May 12th from 10:30-11:30.

| Ulf, I have a Carter D-10 and N112 you can use. However I think I'm about 300 miles from Austen, and I cannot travel. If you don't find something closer maybe you can find a way to pick this gear up and return it. |

Gee, Ulf, I am somewhat surprised no locals have suggestions. I unfortunately only have one steel so it will be working on those dates.
The Saxon Pub is right next to South Austin Music.

Billy and crew are good guys, and they have steels and accessories, amps....not sure if they rent.
Close to there is Rock N Roll Rentals.

No steels to rent, but they have lots of other stuff including guitar and keyboard amps.
Also nearby is the famous Ray Hennings Heart of Texas Music. No website.

Ulf: (forgive my spelling) You might check with Gary Carpenter. He's in Ft. Worth I think. I'll bet he'd let you play one of his new Steels & once you played it you'd have to buy it. 'Cause they are addictive from what I seen & heard in Dallas.  . Just a suggestion. Andy H. |

Nothing wrong with your spelling Andy. I don't know if i dare to visit the DFW area. Too many steel makers around there. Would cost me a fortune
