That guitar is a "Bennett" built by Ronnie Bennett from Bebington Liverpool, one of United Kingdom's best steel guitar builders. The tuners on that steel are obviously the German Shallers...really good. The white strips on the first few frets are obviously stick on tape for the owner to perhaps write some chords. The Gem box was UK's version to the Matchbox, made in the 70's. I use one to this day. Ron once told me that he took the best of Sho-Bud and M.S.A. to design his guitars. He now builds a unique Keyless steel, with just one adjuster to lock the string and tune up. He make's 10, 12, and 14 stringers. As with most one man builders it takes time to get a new one. Ronnie is also a great picker.
