Having squirmed for hours in anticipation and fought a terrific Texas style head cold, I finally got to ready myself for my BIG TEXAS STYLE performance. (I only jest!)

Only two measures into the late Howard White's beautiful "Rosette".......the lights went out! Several of my trusted friends convinced me it was my own antique Volu-Tone amp that had done the dirty deed. What was tho't to be an electrical outage in the non-pedal room only, actually blossomed into a complete electrical failure in the entire hotel and some reported all of Irving, Texas, including the Dallas-Fort Worth Int'l Airport.

To think Sally and I drove some 5,000 miles to attend and this special event.........and to have this happen. Oh well.....

Met lots of great people and enjoyed it muchly.

Ray – I really enjoyed meeting you and listening to your set on Saturday. Very sweet and beautiful playing. I’m glad to know you had a good time down our way.

Keep swingin’,

Ray I had the lights go out on me before, during a recording session back in the early 90's. Turned out a tornado ripped through the town and took out the power lines. The twister did miss the studio. lol

I truly appreciate all the kid words about my set down there in Texas........ I know it was not up to snuff so your kindness is really, reallly appreciated.

I've been negligent in my other posts for failure to acknowledge the super generous and kind efforts of Jeff Strouse. Rick Alexander and George Boards were both super nice to me and my experience with them in Texas will not soon be forgotten.

But JEFF, had it not been for YOU, the olde Bigsby would never have gotten out of the case nor back into it. You are a gem. Sally says she'd be willing to adopt you as you are an ideal 'Boy Next Door' kinda guy. We both really enjoyed your vocal and playing set. Very good. Nice to see you finally coming out of the closet........so to speak.
