I knew it was comming. Just kinda hard to accept it though. We've got our nose in too many places and we're paying for it now with who knows how many human lives.

Let's hope Military Intelligence will actualy live up to it's name for once and any responses will be measured and precise, otherwise this could just be the warm-up for a nasty little set-to
Peace and comfort to the American people on this sad day. |

I used to be able to see the World Trade Center from my sister's front lawn -- now it's just a plume of smoke.
We live in a special country, the greatest country in the world. Sometimes we lose sight of that. It's at times like these that we all recognize what we all know in our hearts.
God Bless America. |

"We've been sticking our noses in other peoples business for too long"...Or words to that effect.
Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you say that, you slap the faces of all the men and women who have died for this country!!! What would have happened if we hadn't "stuck our noses" into WWII???? These people aren't "people", they're monsters who have no souls!!!!!! This is something we should've finished years ago, but all the liberal countries say "you can't do that, you have to go thru "diplomatic channels". If we would've stood up to these countries, and they know who they are, we wouldn't be facing this now because they would know you don't mess with the U.S. Now, they thumb their noses at us and dance in the miserable streets of their pitiful sesspools in Afganistan (sp?)and the occupied areas of Isreal (sp?). They threw down the gauntlet, and by GOD we're going to bring down the THUNDER!!!!
I'm going to call my dad right now, who "stuck his nose in" when he was one of the liberators of the Dachau concentration camp in WWII, and thank him for what he did and for "sticking his nose in"!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you to all veterans!!!!!

My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to not only the victims of this absurd tragedy, but to all Americans. We are all victims here. It is time to take out the bastards that wreak terrorism around the world. Like has already been said, we already know who these pieces of s#!t are and it's time to kill them and anybody who gets in our way in accomplishing this. There is no room for worrying about killing innocent people. They don't give us that consideration.
GOD BLESS AMERICA and let's nuke them bastards. |

I have to agree with Forrest....If you look at the history of WW2....we kept our noses out of it for many years and allowed the Nazis to gain control of Europe. We stood by and watched as the holocaust was taking place. We aided the Russians by supplying them with weapons to fight the Nazis. FINALLY we were attacked by the Japanese and THEN we entered the war. Perhaps we could have saved many lives if we would have entered it sooner. NOW we must act or live in fear of more attacks and allow terrorists to gain more control over the world. If you aren't in support of this country, pack up and leave and live in a country that is safer?? If the country is divided on this issue at this point, then we will lose as we did in Vietnam.

Terrorism is a disease and must be treated as such. It is not enough to remedy the symptoms. The entire illness must be cured.
Acts of terrorism can and have occured in many countries claiming many innocent victums. Terrorists have no regard for who gets caught in the crossfire as long as their acts of violence are successful.
And make no mistake about this; they are not cowards when it comes to their own lives. They consider it an honor to die in a suicide mission for what they believe in. We are up against formidable opponents.
As far as "sticking our noses" in business that does not concern us? This "business" was brought to our doorstep yesterday. That, if nothing else makes it our business. |

You took me all wrong partner. I'm talking aobut all the small things in the world that really don't affect us or our concerns. I'm all for standing up for our freedom and democracy. I've been there and done that, and so have my Dad and all my brothers. Don't be so quick to judge peole until you ask and understand what was meant to be said. It really pisses me off that you or anyone else would have taken what I said in such a manner. Be careful what you say, you don't have any idea how some of us have paid for ours and your freedom.

Our response should be:
1) Immediately bomb as many terrorist training camps and headquarters as possible and I mean bomb them out of existence.
2) Order nations such as Syria, Egypt and whoever else may offer protection for terrorists and their leaders to turn them over or face some surgical strikes on places we suspect that are hiding such maggots.
3) Round up anyone in the US who has sent money to support terrorist organizations and expel them out of the country.
4) Put a two-year moratorium on immigration--that means taking it to zero and no amnesty for illegals, ever.
5) Severely tighten airport security and install video cameras at the gates to film all passengers before boarding. If we could have the faces tied to each flight, then that would help. Perhaps implement some type of flight ID card system that is tied to biometrics.
These are just for starters...
I have not been distressed at because:
quote:
Psa 56:11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
Those in distress remind me of:
quote:
Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luk 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Other verses come to mind during this, but this event is not being referenced in these verses:
quote: Rev 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
Rev 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
Rev 18:6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
Rev 18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
Rev 18:8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong [is] the Lord God who judgeth her.
Rev 18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
Rev 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
Rev 18:11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
Rev 18:12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
Rev 18:13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
Rev 18:14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
Rev 18:15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
Rev 18:16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
Rev 18:17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
Rev 18:18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city is] like unto this great city!
Rev 18:19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

Wow!
I came here (The Forum) to relax a bit and to find comfort, and I have.
However, the statements about having our noses in too many places sets mine out of joint, slightly. I’m with Forrest, Dennis (and others) on this…
Look, we are a world economic and military power. We have a long and wonderful history of fighting for freedom and democracy on many fronts. The free world depends on this, as do we. I think the world is a far better place because we stick our noses in as opposed to burying our collective head in the sand.
We have enjoyed sanctuary in that the continental United States has not been attacked ever in our lifetimes, until now. We don’t need a rush to judgement, but we do need to be willing to stand up and fight terrorists to the death; not tit-for-tat, but decisively.
And even failing that, the Pontiff says it better than I've been able to: Addressing his weekly general audience in St. Peter's Square Wednesday, Pope John Paul II told Americans that "those who believe in God know that evil and death do not have the final say."
